It's All About MeMe!

Bitsy did this great little MeMe, and I couldn't pass it up! Feel free to do it too!

Favorite person (outside family)?
I really don't have an answer for this one.

Favorite food?
Steak Tacos from a little Mexican whole in the wall in the small Southern California town where I was raised. There are others, but if I had to pick one this would be it.

Quirks about you?
I loathe bananas. The smell of artificial peach makes me want to vomit. The only way I will eat carrots is in cake. I love the smell of coffee, but can't stand the taste. I sometimes dry heave when changing a diaper. The sound of someone clipping their nails skeebs me out. Hearing someone whistle while I am listening to the radio annoys the crap out of me.

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less?
The hubs answer, "I don't know." Nice, huh?

Any regrets in life?
That I filled out those credit card applications in college. I mean it was a major mistake. The college campuses should not allow those credit card vendors on campus. It's far too tempting.

Favorite Charity/Cause?
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is an amazing foundation with an amazing purpose.

Favorite Blog recently?
I have about 10 I read every weekday, then others I catch up on weekly. I'm not going to play favorites.

Something you can’t get enough of?
Money. There never seems to be enough money. I just looked at flights for Cali at Christmas time. $2,600 for the four of us to fly. How are we going to afford that?

Worst job you’ve ever had?
I haven't really had any bad jobs. With the exception of McDonald's I have enjoyed them all. Even my brief summer stint between my sophomore and junior year at the Golden Arches wasn't that bad.

What job would you pay NOT to have?
I dunno - perhaps cleaning up elephant dung at the zoo.

If you could be a fly on the wall, where?
That's a tough one for me. I really don't want to know some things about some people; more particularly, what they think of me.

Favorite Bible verse right now?
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

Guilty Pleasure?
A long, hot bath without children present.

Got any confessions?
Anything I want to confess will be written in its own post.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it?
I would buy new bedding. Soft, luxurious new bedding. If there were any leftover, I might buy something to decorate my walls. After almost 2 years in our new house, we have nothing on the walls in our bedroom.

Favorite thing about your house?
I love everything about my house. We built it about 2 years ago. The hubs designed it, so it's got almost everything we could possibly need. If I had to pick a favorite room, it would be my kitchen.

Least favorite thing about your house?
The astronomical property taxes that go with it.

One thing you are bad at?
Music. Anything musical is beyond me. I can't read music, I can't carry a tune, and I am one of those crazy people that thinks I sound just like they do on the radio.

One thing you’re good at?
Baking. I love to bake and am pretty good at it.

If you could change something about your circumstances, what?
I would find something that would allow me to stay home and still make enough money to pay our taxes.

Who would you like to meet someday? Living or dead?
My husband's mother. She passed away about 10 years before I met him. Everyone that knew her tells me how wonderful she was.

What makes you feel sexy?
Anything that will make me 50 pounds lighter.

Who is your real life hero?
My Mom. She is the most amazing person I know. She works hard, she makes everything fun, she loves my Dad to no end, she bakes amazing desserts, she's funny, she's kind, she tells it like it is, she's supportive...oh the list goes on and on. If I am half the mom she is, then I will know I am successful.

What is the hardest part of your job?
Remembering that people seek me out for help in something they don't understand and explaining it to them in terms they can understand.

When are you most relaxed?
In the evenings, just after both kids have gone to bed, when I know I have made it through another day.

What stresses you out?
Sick children. It's so stressful when they are sick and you don't know what to do to make them feel better.

What can you not live without?
My faith. It's what holds me together and gets me through the toughest times.

Do you agree or disagree with the recent article that reported that blogs are authored by narcissists?
I suppose that's probably true.

Why do you blog?
It started with a photo blog of my son for my family in California to see him grow.It turned into more than that about 18 months ago. Now I do it so my family can keep up with our lives.

Bananad are gross - I can't stand that film they leave on your teeth. I love the smell of coffee too yet I can't stand the taste either! YUCK!!!

I totally agree about the credit cards and college - that is where I got the cards that got me into so much trouble. They target college students and it should be illegal!

Holy cow!! It is unbelievable that a flight costs that much - and on top of it you will have to pay now to check your luggage!

Your kitchen does totally rock! Tell your Hubby that he can come do mine next!

I'll probably do this one too.. I've been mulling it over since she did it.
