Weight Loss Wednesday

This week's progress: down 1.4 pounds. It's not a lot, but it is a step in the right direction.

Weight Loss Tip: Keep low calorie snacks on hand and at the ready. I never have any extra change lying around so vending machines weren't a problem for me when I worked in the city. Now I work in a place that has an "on your honor" vending system. There have been a number of times that I have taken from the "on your honor" tub and brought back several dollars by the end of the week. It started to get out of control. Now I have my desk stocked with snacks to satisfy my horrendous sweet tooth. I keep 100 calorie packs and Special K granola bars in my desk drawer. If I get a little crazy, I sometimes have a package of WW cakes in my desk and even Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. Now, no matter the situation, I am prepared when the munchie monster attacks!

Oh so yummy food find. Fage non-fat plan yogurt. You can do so many things with it. It has the taste and consistency of full fate sour cream, so it would be a great substitute for a baked potato, taco or burrio topping. You can mix in fresh fruit. You can mix in a drizzle of honey. You can mix in cucumber, garlic and lemon juice for a tatziki sauce - YUMMM!

A pinch of dried mint in your tatziki will make it pop (that is how the Armenians do it...they call it jajik - not sure if I spelled that right....)

I love Skinny Cow bars!!!!!

You're doing great!

Is that the answer to my internal question about the origin of your last name?

I'll have to try the mint - sounds like a yummy addition.

Have you looked through the WW stuff yet?

Oh, I thought you knew Hubby was Armenian! Somewhere along the way I blogged about that, but I haven't mentioned it in a while.... Actually I have an interesting post in mind about that side of the family..anyways...yep, Armenian.

I have looked through and I am starting to figure out points in everything I eat. One thing I will say about this point stuff is that it really keeps you on track with portion control. Like last night - Instead of say the usualy...uh...4-5 enchiladas, I only had 2. Are you proud of me? I sure am!!! LOL!!!

You cut your portion in half - that's awesome! Instead of a half bottle of wine, I drink a quarter - that's pretty good - right??? Maybe I should skip the wine, but boy would I miss it!

LOL! Right now I am thankful that I don't really like the taste of wine... Although I am told I just haven't tried the right wine yet...
