Want to Roast Potatoes, but it's too hot to turn on the oven?
Cut your potatoes as you like them. Drizzle them with oil, sprinkle them with your desired seasoning, place them on a microwave safe cutting board, then microwave them until soft (I have a potato sensor in my microwave, so I'm not sure how long this takes). Remove them from the microwave and transfer them to a baking sheet. Put them under the broiler until browned and crisp, which will be just a few minutes.
You are still turning the oven on, but for only a short amount of time and no pre-heating is required.

Those look delish! That is an excellent tip that I must use!
Great idea! I love roasted potatoes, but I hate waiting for them...
I think I have a potato sensor in my microwave too!
I wish I would have read this earlier....would have gone great with the chicken I am preparing!
I will have to check my microwave! I had no idea there was such thing as a potato sensor! With the heat out here, I will be sure to check that out!
Great tip! We just made oven roasted potatos this weekend and they took FOREVER--and it was HOT and with the oven on 400 it was even HOTTER!
I'm totally doing it your way next time.
