Weight Loss Wednesday

I thought posting about my journey here would help me. Alas, it only got me through the end of the work week, then everything got turned upside down. I am not going to make excuses. I will fully admit that I gave into temptation at a block party on Saturday. I will also admit that I gave into temptation again last night and had a sandwich that was not the best choice on the menu and I split dessert with the hubs.

All of my transgressions led to a 1 pound weight gain. The only thing I can say is at least it was only 1 pound.

Weight loss is not easy. If it were easy there wouldn’t be an obesity epidemic in our country. It’s a journey, and I am will be on that journey for the long haul.

My tip for the week, which will make all diet experts gasp in horror, works for me. I am not an expert. Every healthy eating expert in the world will tell you not to skip breakfast. In fact many will tell you to make breakfast your largest meal of the day. I get up at 5:00am every morning. I usually wake up hungry. If I eat a big breakfast anytime before 9:00am I will have used up a good portion of my points for the day and find myself hungry and cranky by dinnertime. What I do instead is drink a diet soda on my drive to work (don’t judge me… I have a severe dislike of coffee, so this is where I get my caffeine). That diet soda holds me over until 9:00 or 10:00, when I will then eat something small for breakfast. It works by holding my hunger at bay and saving my points for smaller meals throughout the day.

I start a new week tomorrow and am hopeful I will have a more successful week!

I love diet coke...sometimes it takes me through lunch so I guess I am just as "bad" as you. ;)

Both kids are LOVING that potty video and Benny is totally motivated because Joshua went so he says he can too!

hang in there. Remember, you did just have a baby! Oh, and I'm too ashamed to tell you how many diet cokes I drink a day...

ok, so I just posted on my blog about how Benny is still holding in the poop, but just now - like just now - he went! He was sitting there and said it was too hard and I said to keep trying and that "Joshua" kept trying and Benny was all "but nothing came out" and I said "he kept trying and it did come out" and Benny was all "ok, I will try" and then he went!!! I LOVE that video! LOL!!!!!

I didn't watch it first, but I remembered what you said and so I knew it was coming and I tried hard not to laugh...Benjamin, however, thought it was great fun!
